The term 'Ghostwriter' describes the person who works behind the scenes on a writing project, lending their technical or artistic abilities to someone else in exchange for pay, allowing the person to then release the written content in their own name.

You would be amazed to find out that many of the world's greatest books and screenplays 'written by' famous people were in fact ghostwritten by a nameless, faceless talent.

Sometimes a ghostwriter is secured to create an entire project from scratch. Other times they are hired to take existing rough content and create something that is polished and ready for release.

Ghostwriting is the answer for many who have knowledge on a topic but have very little ability or patience for communicating in writing.

The web runs on content and fresh original content is hard to come by when you don't like to write yourself. So website owners and newsletter editors often turn to ghostwriters for support.

Right now there are people in need of a ghostwriter to create content for them. Entrepreneurs are incredibly creative and always coming up with new ideas!

P.S. I have affectionately referred to Ghostwriting as the 'Waitressing job of the Internet'. Very few of us would want to waitress for a lifelong career - and the same would probably apply to ghostwriting. Just like an aspiring actress who has to wait tables to keep food on the table while they go to auditions, many very talented up and coming internet marketers and writers turn a quick profit offering their skills on the side. I think it makes perfect sense! That being said - some people fall in love with it and end up making a career of it, as do a few very devoted and people friendly career waitresses ;)
